Paris, Day Un

No pictures yet, but I'll add them later....

After a miserable flight full of screaming children an an exceptionally rude Italian man who reclined his seat into Jeff's lap for the whole seven hours, we have decided to never travel unless we can go Business Class. Yeah, I'm high maintenance.

We took a cab to our hotel, and stopped counting the number of brushes with death we experienced. Our room was not yet prepared, so we walked up to the Luxembourg Gardens & Palace, where we had sandwiches and complained about how tired we were.

When we got back, the room was ready, so we took a short nap and then ventured out to Notre Dame Cathedral. Jeff was most impressed by the band in the courtyard playing the song "Losing My Religion." Being difficult, we headed left when we entered, and walked around the cathedral against the flow of traffic. I was most impressed by the guy wearing an old man mask and jumping in people's faces as they took pictures.

One of our greatest discoveries so far is the reason for the stinky-ness: a plant used copiously for landscaping that smells like the weeder-waddle of a kitty.

We walked along the Seine and tried to find the Sorbonne, but apparently headed the wrong direction and found the Louvre instead. Guess that will have to do. Saw some famous stuff like the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.

Now we're back at the hotel, resting and refreshing ourselves, and feeding your insatiable interest for the details of our lives. Tomorrow morning, we're off to Versailles.

Thank you for Partie Un!

Souvenez-vous--Rodin.

I hope the Hall of Mirrors is open at Versailles! When I was there in ought-five, it was closed for repair. What's the point of going?! The GARDEN!! Marie Antoinette used to go out there and pretend she was a common peasant working on a farm.

what kind of band was playing "Losing My Religion"? A "rock quartet?" a concert band? a string quartet? R.E.M. themselves?

this is devon (even though it says jeff guy)

Tyloor - it was just a guy w/ a guitar, singing. He attracted quite a crowd.

Cam, we did go to Rodin. More soon.
